A Work of Bargain Art

All for under $10!

I went to take a picture of one of my bargains, but I captured a whole host of bargains!

Deal 1 (the intended subject): Chair – Free
I got this comfy chair from the free section on CraigsList. It was a little dusty when I brought it home, but it’s in great overall condition. I like the wood frame too. It’s hard to do better for free.

Deal 2: Magazine Rack – $.25
My mom bought this for a quarter at a rummage sale. It was a little rough and brassy when I brought it home. I conned an ex into sanding it down and painting it black, though, at no cost to me.

Deal 3: Dog Pillow – $7.99
These big dog pillows normally go for around $20. I went to Ace Hardware to get some keys, and I couldn’t pass this up for my big goofy dog. He prefers my bed, of course.

Deal 4: Big Goofy Dog (aka Will) – Free
I had to. I found this guy when he was about 6 weeks old and 11 lbs outside of Goodwill. Eight months later, I’ve definitely invested some money, and he weighs close to 70 lbs! Best deal you’ll see here.

Who doesn’t love fresh waffles? Forget frozen! This is where it’s at! And only 10 bucks? You really can’t beat a deal like that!

Freecycle

Got this old TV
free, and TV stand came too.
I love Freecycle.

I love it so much, I’ve written a haiku.

I don’t just love it because everything is free. That is pretty fantastic, though.

I love it because with the overall attitude of everyone, it’s also easy to unload thing without having to drag them all over to find somewhere you can donate them. The big focus is keeping things out of landfills. The people on the site will find a home for anything if you can’t. Here are some examples of recent offers in the St. Louis area:

wooden changeable calendar

And the list goes on.

You can request things too, just in case someone has, oh let’s say a loveseat or dresser they don’t want laying around. I’m still semi-new to FreeCycle, so I’ve only gotten one thing:

It’s old, but it works. By the way, another good deal? The digital converter box on top. With my coupon, it was only $5 from Target! The other one I bought before was $20 with my coupon. Not a good deal

My boyfriend built me a closet (which you can see in the background) because there isn’t one in the bedroom of my apartment. He suggested doors or a curtain to close it off, but I knew right away that a room divider would work best. Well, I finally found one. I’m already in love.
